Belgrade Airport transfers to and from Bulgaria
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is one of the largest airports in the Balkans, and more and more travellers, Bulgarians and visitors alike, now fly in and out of it. With TAXI-BG you get from the terminal in Belgrade to Sofia, Plovdiv, the mountains or the Black Sea coast with a private driver, in a clean, air-conditioned car. The price is fixed and covers the whole car, not each passenger. Nothing is paid upfront: you pay the driver when you arrive.
We drive the other way too. We pick you up from your home, hotel or office in Bulgaria and drop you outside the terminal in Belgrade in good time for your flight. We work around the clock, every day, public holidays included, so an early departure or a late landing is never a problem.
Why so many people fly from Belgrade
Belgrade is a major hub with plenty of direct flights, including many budget airlines. A ticket from there is often cheaper, or there is a direct flight to a city you cannot reach non-stop from Sofia. That is why Belgrade is a popular choice for people from Sofia and western Bulgaria, students studying abroad, Bulgarians working in Western Europe, and tourists. If several of you travel together, a fixed-price transfer per car makes the savings on your tickets even bigger, because the cost is shared by everyone in the car.
Many visitors also land in Belgrade and continue to Bulgaria for a ski trip, a summer on the coast or business. Instead of juggling trains and buses with heavy suitcases, they step into the car outside the terminal and step out at their door.
How to book a Belgrade transfer
- Write to us for a fixed price. Belgrade has no ready-made price in the table. Send us your pick-up point, destination, date and number of passengers on WhatsApp, Viber or Telegram, and we will reply with a fixed price for the whole car.
- Send your booking. Use a booking from an airport if you are landing in Belgrade, or a booking from an address if you are heading to the airport. You can also phone us.
- Get your confirmation. Our operator confirms the time, the meeting point and the car.
- Travel, then pay. No prepayment and no hidden charges.
Distances and driving times
The road from Sofia to Belgrade crosses the border at Kalotina, passes Nis and then follows the Serbian motorway north. These are approximate distances to Belgrade from the places we drive from most often:
- Sofia – Belgrade: about 400 km, around 4 h 45 min.
- Plovdiv – Belgrade: about 550 km, around 6 h.
- Velingrad – Belgrade: about 540 km, around 6 h 20 min.
- Stara Zagora – Belgrade: about 630 km, around 7 h.
- Burgas – Belgrade: about 785 km, around 8 h.
- Varna – Belgrade: about 840 km, around 10 h.
Allow extra time for the border on top of this. You will find guide prices from the capital in the Sofia price list, but for an exact price from your address, just drop us a message.
Border crossing and travel documents
On the way to Belgrade you cross the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. Serbia is not in the European Union, so there are passport and customs checks in both directions. How long this takes depends on the season, the day and the time. When you have a flight to catch, we plan your departure with time to spare.
Every passenger, children included, needs a valid travel document: an ID card or a passport, depending on nationality. Check the expiry date before you travel. If you are not an EU citizen, make sure in advance whether you need a visa for Serbia.
Arriving in and leaving from Belgrade
When you land in Belgrade, we track your flight in real time. If your plane is late, the driver waits with no time limit and at no extra cost. There is no need to call us from the airport, as we already see the change.
When you fly out of Belgrade, tell us your flight time and we will suggest when to set off, leaving enough time for the border, the drive and check-in. For very early flights people often leave during the night, which is fine, because we work 24/7.
Who travels with us via Belgrade
In winter, skiers who land in Belgrade carry on to Bansko and Borovets. In summer they head for the sea: Varna, Burgas and the resorts nearby. Around the holidays, Bulgarians living abroad fly home to Belgrade and finish the journey with a door-to-door transfer. All year round we also drive business travellers, and students with plenty of luggage at the start and end of term.
If you would like to stop on the way, for example in Nis or Pirot, let us know when you book. You can also hire a car with a driver for a few hours or a full day when you have more than one stop.
Our cars
Our group runs around 200 sedans, 50 minivans, around 100 buses and around 20 luxury Mercedes S-Class and E-Class cars. On a long drive like this one comfort matters, so pick a car with room for everyone and all the luggage.
- Sedan – up to 4 passengers.
- Minivan – up to 6 passengers, with more room for suitcases and skis.
- Minibus – up to 8 passengers.
- More than 8 people – write to us and we will find a solution.
Baby seats, child seats and boosters come at no extra cost, as long as you ask for them when booking. For business travel, take a look at our VIP transfers.
Price and payment
Write to us and you will get a fixed price for the whole car. It does not change because of traffic, time at the border or a delayed flight. You pay the driver after the ride, with no prepayment. You book directly with the carrier, not through a platform, so you deal with the people who actually run your trip.
