Transfers from and to Istanbul Airport
Istanbul is one of the biggest air hubs in the world. It has direct flights to Asia, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East that are often not available from Bulgaria. That is why more and more people travel overland to Istanbul and fly from there. How to book

- Get your confirmation with the departure time and the type of car.
- Pay at the end, with no prepayment.
The border and your travel documents
The road to Istanbul crosses the border between Bulgaria and Turkey at a checkpoint. Most often this is Kapitan Andreevo near Svilengrad, but the driver picks the crossing based on where you start and on road conditions. Turkey is not in the European Union, so there are passport and customs checks at the border.
Every passenger, children included, must carry a valid travel document and, if their nationality requires one, a visa for Turkey. Please check your documents in good time. Time at the border depends on the day, the hour and the season, and cannot be predicted exactly. That is why, for a flight out of Istanbul, we plan your departure with a generous margin.
Distances to the new Istanbul Airport
These times are for the drive only and do not include time at the border:
- From Burgas – about 310 km, around 3 h 40 min. The closest large Bulgarian city.
- From Stara Zagora – about 345 km, around 4 h 15 min.
- From Plovdiv – about 400 km, around 4 h 15 min.
- From Varna – about 430 km, around 5 h 45 min.
- From Sofia – about 530 km, around 5 h 30 min.
- From Ruse – about 540 km, around 7 h.
The trip to Sabiha Gökçen Airport is longer, because you have to cross the Bosphorus. From Burgas, for example, it is about 390 km, around 4 h 35 min.
Meeting you when you land in Istanbul
We track your flight in real time. If your plane is late, the driver waits with no time limit and at no extra cost. After a long flight from another continent, there is no need to hunt for a bus or switch vehicles at the border. You get in the car and arrive straight at your hotel or your home in Bulgaria.
When you book, tell us your flight number, how many suitcases you have and whether you are travelling with children. If your luggage is delayed or you have paperwork to sort out at the airport, just message us in the chat. The driver will wait, so you do not need to worry about the clock.

In summer many visitors fly into Istanbul and come on to Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Sozopol and the other resorts around Burgas. Around Christmas, New Year and the major holidays, lots of families are on the move too. During those weeks, book a few days ahead so we can give you a car of the right size.
