We are TaxiBG. Our main work is taxi transfers with a driver, mostly between Sofia and Plovdiv. Where you can pick up a rental car
The form covers the places where most visitors start their trip:
- Airports: Sofia (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2), Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas.
- City offices: Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Blagoevgrad.
- Ski resorts: Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo.
- Seaside: Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Sozopol, Golden Sands, Albena.
You can return the car at a different place. Type the return location in the second field. If there is a one-way fee, it is already in the price you see.
How to book, step by step
- Type the city, airport or resort where you want to take the car and pick it from the list.
- Choose the return place. If it is the same, leave it as it is.
- Choose the pick-up and return dates and press the button.
- You will see the available cars, the price for your dates and the conditions for mileage, insurance and deposit. Choose a car and finish the booking.
What you need to rent a car in Bulgaria
- A valid driving licence.
- An ID card or a passport.
- A credit or debit card for the deposit.
- Minimum age is usually 21 years; for some car classes it is 23 or 25.
The exact conditions for the car you choose are shown before you confirm. Read them once: the deposit amount, what the insurance covers and whether there is a mileage limit.
Driving in Bulgaria: short practical notes
- Vignette. Motorways and main roads need an electronic vignette. Ask at pick-up whether the car already has one.
- Winter. If you go to Bansko, Borovets or Pamporovo between December and March, ask for a car with winter tyres and check the forecast for the mountain pass. Chains may be needed on some days.
- Sofia – Plovdiv. The Trakia motorway connects the two cities: about 150 km and 1 hour 45 minutes without traffic.
- Parking. The centres of Sofia and Plovdiv have paid parking zones (blue and green zones). Payment is usually by SMS or in an app.
Rental car or taxi with a driver?
A rental car is the better choice when you stay several days, travel a lot between towns, or go to places without regular transport. A taxi with a driver is better when:
- you only need one trip, for example Sofia Airport to Plovdiv and back;
- you land late at night, after a long flight, and do not want to drive on unknown roads;
- you travel with small children: we give baby and child seats free of charge;
- you do not want to think about deposit, fuel, parking and returning the car.
Our prices are per car, not per person. Sofia or Sofia Airport to Plovdiv costs 100 € for a sedan (up to 4 passengers), 120 € for a minivan (up to 6) and 140 € for a minibus (up to 8).
